Can you regrout a shower without removing tiles?
Yes. We remove only the old grout and silicone between the tiles, then regrout and reseal. The tiles stay where they are.
What's included in a shower regrout and reseal
- ✓ Remove the old, cracked and deteriorated grout (walls up to about shower-head height, and the base)
- ✓ Remove failed silicone from corners, the wall-to-floor junction and around the shower screen
- ✓ Mould treatment and a deep clean of every joint
- ✓ Regrout with Mapei Kerapoxy epoxy grout. It's non-porous and water-resistant, and it doesn't need sealing
- ✓ Reseal all junctions with sanitary-grade, mould-resistant silicone
- ✓ Final clean and all waste removed

Regrouting vs retiling: which do you need?

We'll tell you honestly which one you need. Regrouting and resealing stops water getting in through the grout and silicone. It doesn't replace the waterproof membrane under the tiles. If water is already getting past a failed membrane, or the walls behind are soft or rotten, a rebuild may be the right answer, and we'll say so.
Signs your shower needs regrouting
Cracked, crumbling or missing grout · black mould that comes back after cleaning · gaps or peeling silicone in the corners · water stains or bubbling paint on the other side of the wall · a damp or musty smell · loose or hollow-sounding tiles near the floor.
How the job works
- Send photos. We quote a fixed price, usually within 24 hours.
- Keep the shower dry for 24 hours before we arrive.
- On the day (usually 4–8 hours) we remove the old grout, clean, regrout with epoxy and reseal.
- Don't use the shower for 24–48 hours while the epoxy cures. We'll confirm the exact time on the day.

How long does it take?
Most showers are done in one day (4–8 hours). Large or complex showers can take 2–3 days.
When can I use my shower again?
After 24–48 hours, once the epoxy has cured.
Will epoxy regrouting fix my leaking shower?
If the water is getting in through failed grout or silicone, yes. That's the most common cause we see. If the membrane under the tiles has failed, regrouting alone won't fix it, and we'll tell you before you book.
Do you use epoxy or cement grout?
Epoxy only: Mapei Kerapoxy. Cement grout is porous and breaks down in showers. Epoxy is non-porous and doesn't need sealing.
